We are so thrilled to chat with Lizbeth Meredith, author of Pieces of Me: Rescuing My Kidnapped Daughters. Here, Lizbeth shares a few facts about herself and gives us a sneak peak into her workspace!
I wanted to write this book for my daughters, so that they would know all that I’ve learned about our splintered past. Later on, I wanted to tell my story because there are universal themes that resonate with many people. Topics like domestic violence, child kidnapping, and the strength that comes from people around the globe working together to achieve a goal were definitely worth talking about.
My readers might be surprised to learn that I’ve mastered extreme budget solo travel after my daughters grew up, and I now happily have friends across the globe. I now prefer traveling alone.
It was hard to write my sixth chapter, where I introduce many of my family members that I grew up with. We had it rough, and consequently, none of us were at our best, and I worried (worry) constantly that I will hurt them further.
A book, usually a memoir, my iPad, and one or both of my cats typically occupy my nightstand.
I prefer to be home, sitting on my bed while writing.
